BTGAMHS offers structured anger management services for individuals who struggle with intense or frequent anger that affects their relationships, safety, or daily functioning. Our evidence‑based programs help clients understand their triggers, regulate emotions, and respond in healthier, more constructive ways.

What this Service is for

Anger management services are designed for:

  • Individuals who feel “always angry,” easily triggered, or out of control when upset
  • Clients who have had conflicts at work, school, or home linked to angry outbursts or aggression
  • People referred by the courts, probation, law enforcement, or other agencies
  • Anyone wanting to improve communication, reduce arguments, and build healthier relationships

These services are appropriate for adults and older adolescents who are ready to learn new skills and practice them in real‑life situations.

Types of Services Offered

All services are delivered in a non‑judgmental, trauma‑informed environment.

Individual anger management counseling

One‑on‑one sessions focused on identifying triggers, exploring underlying emotions (stress, hurt, fear), and building coping strategies.

Structured anger management groups

Group sessions that teach anger‑reduction skills, emotional regulation, and assertive communication in a supportive setting.

Crisis de‑escalation support

Help managing acute anger episodes, including safety planning and strategies to avoid escalation.

Collaboration with the justice system

If needed, we can provide reports or progress updates to courts, probation, or other agencies (with client consent).

How we Help Clients Manage Anger

Our clinicians use evidence‑based approaches, including:

  • Cognitive‑behavioral techniques to reframe unhelpful thoughts and reduce impulsive reactions
  • Emotion‑regulation skills such as mindfulness, grounding, and relaxation

Anger management services are delivered by licensed behavioral health professionals, including:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW)
  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCC)
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT)
  • Other credentialed clinicians with training in anger management and behavioral interventions

All providers are trained in trauma‑informed care and work within strict confidentiality and safety‑planning guidelines.
